How this calculation works
Yearly subscriptions are divided by 12 to find their monthly-equivalent cost, and weekly subscriptions are multiplied by roughly 4.33 (the average number of weeks in a month). Adding all of these monthly-equivalent figures together gives your true combined monthly spend, which is then multiplied by 12 for the yearly total.
Worked example
Netflix at $15.49/month, Spotify at $11.99/month, and a $60/year gym add-on ($5.00/month): total = $32.48/month, or about $389.76 a year.
Tips
Small subscriptions add up fast
A handful of $5–$15 monthly subscriptions can quietly total hundreds of dollars a year — seeing them combined is often the point of running this calculator in the first place.
Yearly plans can be cheaper
Enter an annual price with 'per year' to see its monthly equivalent next to your monthly plans.
Review every quarter
Set a reminder to check what you still use. Cancelling one forgotten service can save more than it seems.
Watch free trials
Note the date a trial ends so it doesn't turn into a paid plan unnoticed.
